On May 23th, 2008 tents donated by Silvercorp Metals Inc. and New Pacific Metals Corp. founded by Chinese entrepreneur Dr. Rui Feng for the earthquake disaster area in Sichuan are delivered to Beijing by China Airline CA992. These tents, 21 sets, were all purchased in Vancouver for approximately 40,000 dollars. This is second donation for Silvercorp. Dr. Feng donated 250,000 dollars to Consulate-General of PRC for Sichuan on May 21th. Also this is the first batch of relief materials from Chinese immigrants in Vancouver. It is estimated that these tents will arrive Beijing Airport on May 25th and will be shipped to the earthquake disaster area in Sichuan later on.
